Editorial Methodology
Last updated: June 2026
Feexup is a product research and curation site. Every buying guide and product gallery on this site follows the process described below. We publish this methodology so readers can understand exactly how we work and why they can trust our recommendations.
1. How We Select Products to Research
We focus on product categories that shoppers genuinely find confusing or where the market is crowded with similar-looking options at different price points. Our editors identify categories based on reader questions, trending search topics, and direct feedback through our contact page.
Within a category, we start with a broad pool of products that have at least 100 verified reviews on Amazon and a minimum 4.0-star aggregate rating sustained over at least 6 months. Products with rating histories that spike briefly then decline are excluded — we look for consistency, not viral moments.
2. Review Analysis Process
We do not simply sort by star rating. Our editors read through verified purchase reviews systematically, looking for:
- Durability signals — reviews posted 3–12 months after purchase that describe real-world longevity
- Failure patterns — recurring complaints about specific components (motors burning out, coatings peeling, software bugs)
- Use-case fit — whether the reviewer's situation matches the use case we're evaluating for (e.g., a vacuum review from a pet owner matters more for our pet-hair picks)
- Manufacturer response — brands that respond publicly to critical reviews and resolve issues show better customer service track records
3. Spec Sheet Comparison
For technical products, we cross-reference manufacturer spec sheets with third-party certifications. For example: True HEPA certifications for air purifiers, USB-IF certification for charging cables, IP ratings for water resistance claims, and energy star ratings for appliances. We flag products where spec claims cannot be independently verified.
4. Category-Specific Criteria
Each guide applies criteria appropriate to that product category. Examples:
- Kitchen appliances: ease of cleaning, dishwasher-safe parts, warranty length, replacement part availability
- Tech accessories: compatibility with current standards (USB-C, Matter, Bluetooth 5.x), software update history, return rate signals
- Beauty tools: heat protection technology, materials safety (BPA-free, dermatologist-tested), ingredient transparency for skincare
- Travel gear: actual packed dimensions, airline carry-on compliance, durability under rough handling
5. Ranking and Ordering
Products are ranked primarily by overall value for the most common buyer in that category. "Best overall" means the product that performs well across the widest range of realistic use cases — not the highest-spec option or the cheapest. We include budget picks and premium alternatives where the price difference delivers genuinely different outcomes.
Rank order is never influenced by commission rates. A product that earns us a 1% commission can outrank a product that earns 8% if it's the better recommendation. Our credibility with readers is more valuable than any single commission optimization.
6. Affiliate Disclosure
Feexup participates in the Amazon Associates Program. When you click a product link and make a purchase on Amazon, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund the research time that goes into each guide.
Affiliate links do not change prices. The price you see on Amazon is the same whether you arrive via our link or type the URL directly. We disclose this relationship clearly on every page that contains affiliate links.
7. How We Handle Updates
Products go out of stock, get discontinued, receive firmware updates, or develop new quality issues over time. We revisit each guide on a regular schedule and update picks when:
- A product is discontinued or consistently out of stock
- A pattern of new negative reviews emerges after a product update
- A meaningfully better option enters the market at the same price point
- Pricing shifts significantly change the value calculation
Significant updates are reflected in the "Last updated" date shown on each article or gallery page.
8. What We Don't Do
- We do not accept payment from brands to feature their products
- We do not receive free products from manufacturers in exchange for reviews
- We do not publish sponsored content labeled as editorial recommendations
- We do not make static price claims — prices change daily and we link directly to Amazon so you always see the current price
